Our human resources, as marshalled by the will, were not sufficient; they failed utterly. . . Every day is a day when we must carry the vision of God’s will into all our activities. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p.45,85
I hear talk of the “weak-willed” alcoholic, but I am one of the strongest-willed people on earth! I now know that my incredible strength of will is not enough to save my life. My problem is not one of “weakness,” but rather of direction. When I, without falsely diminishing myself, accept my honest limitations and turn to God’s guidance, my worst faults become my greatest assets. My strong will, rightly directed, keeps me working until the promises of the program become my daily reality.

My thoughts on July 5th Reading
I am fortunate enough to have enjoy a new
direction, I know I must now be vigilant to protect it a new direction implies
responsibility, I willingly assumed, I knew I had the chance to grow
It gave me the opportunity to make the
best of my life, a beginning of a fantastic way of life I never thought
possible, anyone who thinks this is a program to just take and then move on with
other parts of there lives is just fooling themselves
They are playing with there sobriety I
needed to be active to help keep this fellowship going and to keep myself sober
the fellowship is a mixed bag of nuts, all coming together for a new beginning
in sobriety
I have known people new to recovery who
enter the program only to encounter a crisis or difficulty that can inflicts
blows to someone already down, situations do serve a purpose
They show in moments of struggle that
people become aware of the reality of their life some refuse, or are unable to
hear the message being offered at our meetings, it takes wisdom, patience, and
detachment, to know when to reach out to someone
How far to go in reaching out to them,
some just don't want this new direction, it is the fellowship that makes this a
living plan for continued recovery, the new direction
Where else could we find true friends,
ones who would stand by us in adversity hope and unconditional love is our
strength, it comes from caring about our fellow sufferers, to many have been to
that dark and lonely place
They are our hope and we are their hope as
I learned how to trust, I participated in a new direction that give me
understanding strength, and love, I need your support and I always have found
it through my program
Both on line and F2F, we are a group who
understand the meaning of spirit of fellowship with out all the people who came
before me, I would not have stayed sober thank God that others are finding the
same direction we have found
With in this wonderful fantastic
fellowship of recovering alcoholics Our Twelfth Step tell us to reach out to
others, its then the fellowship shines offering its experience strength, and
hope thru a loving caring God
Who has blessed us with a new direction,
He is waiting to bless other who we show the way, keep active we need each
other to continue the journey passing it forwards is a great way to live our
new lives
God bless you Al M
