A Changed Outlook

Our whole attitude and outlook upon life will change. ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS, p. 84

When I was drinking, my attitude was totally selfish, totally self-centered; my pleasure and my comfort came first. Now that I am sober, self-seeking has started to slip away. My whole attitude toward life and other people is changing. For me, the first “A” in our name stands for attitude. My attitude is changed by the second “A” in our name, which stands for action. By working the Steps, attending meetings, and carrying the message, I can be restored to sanity. Action is the magic word! With a positive, helpful attitude and regular A.A. action, I can stay sober and help others to achieve sobriety. My attitude now is that I am willing to go to any length to stay sober!

My thoughts on June 1st Reading

I became willing to change in recovery, change everything about my attitudes; with out any more conflicts towards life, friends, family, people, places, and things, I sure needed a serious changed outlook on my attitudes

My attitude was always my biggest problem about the conflicts I was engaged in, yes a real changed outlook on my life was needed, I was always a user of people, I could use anyone for any of my needs at any time

I would take advantage with out looking back to see it they got hurt in the process, to tell the truth it just did not matter to me, as long as I got what I wanted from them, my bottle booze was more important to me

Than family, friends, work, or anything else I was completely bankrupt when I entered the halls, today I have a completely changed outlook on all my life, I pray that I may always remember where I came from and in what condition I was in

The HOW of this program are Honesty, Open-mindedness, and Willingness to change, I had to practice willingness by staying close to program people and working with others, God is in charge of the whole universe today

Not me I am ruler of nothing today, I have found a loving forgiven God, I really do understand today, I am willing to share Him with anyone who wants our way of life, God works thru people

Who are willing to have a changed outlook on their attitudes about how they use to live, the people God put into my life gave me that unconditional love, they all seemed to, have always just wanting just to help me thru hard times

They never expecting anything in return, well thanks to the twelve steps of recovery I now can give back what was so freely given to me, your all welcome to use my Higher Power until you find the one of your own understanding

God gave me the willingness, to let go of old habits, willingness to find sobriety, I know I go nowhere without God walking beside me today, life is good a changed out look for me is life with God, as I understand Him

God bless you Al M
